Living with Allergies

Before I get started on this post, just wanted to say, So many things to write, but so little time @_@. Now I admire those bloggers who can post very often even more.
Oh and I got a new job! Working at Fendi at MBS now. :D My first time doing sales/retail and I start with luxury brand. Hahas. Work is great, but now my weeks are fully packed. It's tiring but I actually feel this sense of satisfaction from being busy at all. Although now I might end up neglecting my friends more, in the sense that now I have even lesser time to meet up.
Anyway I'm writing this post while lying on my bed with my eyes half closed, I might even end up writing gibberish. Let's just get started on the topic for today!

On 6th July, there was a talk , "Living with Allergies", held at Bugis+. This talk was a collaboration between Raffles Hospital and Channel News Asia.

Testing out my camera in the hall
The doctors that came down to give a talk were (topics they talked about are in brackets beside their name):
Dr Chong Yong Yeow (FOOD AND DRUG ALLERGIES: IS AVOIDANCE THE ONLY WAY)
Specialist in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology
Dr Raymond Kwah (SKIN ALLERGIES: ATOPIC DERMATITIS)
Specialist in Dermatology & Consultant
Dr Wendy Sinnathamby (MANAGIVING PAEDIATRICS ALLERGIES)
Specialist in Paediatrics & Consultant
Dr David Chan (EYE ALLERGIES)
Specialist in Ophthalmology & Consultant
Dr David Lau (NOSE ALLERGIES: NOT SOMETHING TO SNIFF AT)
Specialist in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery & Consultant
Dr Steve Yang (ARE YOU SURE YOU DON'T HAVE ASTHMA?)
Specialist in Respiratory Medicine & Consultant

I don't think any of you would be interested to hear the contents and all right? But if you do, just drop a comment and I'll post up the summaries for the 6 topics.
But to sum up the talk, it was really very interesting and enlightening. However, there were quite a bit of technical terms used, and while I could keep up due to what I'm studying now, most of the audience was more towards seniors and middle-aged adults. I mean, I don't think words like Immunoglobulin E and cell-mediated reactions are something that we come across in our everyday life.
Other than that, I think the talk was pretty awesome, with some doctors being more interesting than the other. Anyway, I also made an appointment with Dr Raymond Kuah for my eczema. Hopefully he'll be able to help me keep it under control.
I posted the doctors name so that if any of you have any such allergies and would like to see a specialist, just give Raffles Hospital a call and make an appointment with that doctor.

Went out to the small garden after the talk and had a mini camwhore session with my mum~ As usual. Hoho.

P.S. I would like to apologise for disappearing for so long but there's been a lot going on. I'm really sorry guys!

FALLING IN LOVE with 2NE1

I'm falling in love with 2NE1's new song, Falling In Love!
This is going to be my first time doing a review for a MV so I hope I won't bore all of you out.
I'll be commenting on all aspects of the MV, like set, costume and all. Let's get started!

1) MV Set
The beach scene. I really love the clean look. Like, the whole time, they just used the same area, with it simply decorated with the cloth. And they look really relaxed and fun. Btw, I watched it a few times, and, it's a fake beach right? Hahas.
The Egyptian themed room. Mainly gold and white decor, with really minimal black decor. Once again, a clean look but yet looks so classy. It's like, all of them look like modern goddesses. *_* They had 3 different sets and this was my favourite. Especially Minzy's scene, omg it's like she has the throne or something. With our dear CL being Cleopatra. It's kind of wasted that Bom's and Dara's scene wasn't as elaborate as the other 2.
The Basketball court/car scene. I guess you could say that these kind of scenes are common in most Kpop MVs. I'm not going to comment much on this set because IMO, it didn't stand out as much as the other 2 set. But really, it's just my opinion. I love the gold car though. It's so...big, bright and eye catching.

2) Outfits.
HELLO. THIS IS 2NE1. THEIR CLOTHES ARE FOREVER FABULOUS. /BIASED LIKE CRAZY BUT WHO CARES/ I think all of you are going to end up closing this page if I start mentioning one outfit by one outfit. Hahas. But really, the best part about the outfits in this MV is that we can copy the styles and wear in our everyday lives.(because really, how in the world can we wear the outfits from I'm The Best out for fun?) And omfg I totally loved Dara's look in her white outfit and blond hair. /spazz/

3) Music
The most important part! The tune was really catchy and after listening to it a few times, it'll probably be stuck in your head. It also felt like there was a little 'tribal-ish' kind of undertone to the composition. Or, maybe it's just me. The music allows the members to showcase their individual vocals. And the song is fun, light and enjoyable, which is pretty different from their past songs like I'm the Best, I Love You, Can't Nobody, Clap Your Hands.

4) Dance
Based on what I saw in the MV, the dance looked really fun and light. It's not a power dance, but more of a flowly flirty dance where anyone can learn it and just dance for fun. I can't wait to learn the dance!

5) Eye Candy
I just had to add this in. OMFG THE GUYS IN THERE ARE SO CUTEEEEEE. LIKE OMFG, PRETTY BOY PLOX.

To sum it up, I really really love this song. They maintained their image, but at the same time, did something different from their usual songs. It's something I can put on replay and just listen to it the whole day. I'm impressed and hope they win all the awards on the music shows!

~2NE1 Hwaiting!~

SURPRISE! HAPPY 21ST!

On 4th July, we celebrated Mandy's 21st! Well, to be more precise, her mum organised a surprise party and informed us about it. The party was organised at Dallas Restaurant and Bar. And...it was my first time going to a bar.
Anyway I had class on that day. Of all days, class ended late that day. I was supposed to meet Felicia and Winnie at Raffles MRT at 6.45pm, by the time I left school, it was already 6.20. AND I STILL HAD TO GO HOME AND CHANGE. (thank goodness I already prepared all my clothes beforehand) But still, I only had time to dab on some eye shadow and mascara. Even then, I was pretty much already late in meeting the girls so I just told them to go on first while I cabbed down. Thank goodness I arrived before Mandy came.
Camwhoring while waiting for the birthday girl

Crescentians unite!
I didn't manage to take pictures when Mandy came in because we were all holding party poppers and clapping and all.
Birthday girl with her super cool dad

Ahhhh~ I missed Mandy so much. Everytime she came back from  Vancouver, things would always crop up and we would be unable to meet.

WARNING! MORE CAMWHORE!
It's not good to test out the timer while chewing on your food at the same time. Lolololol.  But gah, my eye bags are really obvious in this picture.

Felicia decided that she has had enough of me taking her unglam pictures.

The night view from the 3rd floor of the restaurant/bar.

Mandy's mum was so awesome. She told us to just order whatever we wanted from the bar. Like, omfg free flow of drinks.
Waiters and Waitresses were walking around with trays of food. I think these are called 'canapes'. Right? Do correct me if I'm wrong.
First up we have deep fried calamari.

Crab rolls and some sort of chicken satay.

Smoked salmon with cream cheese on chips. (It was a little salty though. I love smoked salmon  but was unable to eat more than 2 of it)

It's like tortilla wrap with spicy chicken inside.

BROWNIEEEEEEEEE *_*

Okay TBH, I didn't try this so I'm not sure what it is. Maybe, cheese tart with cream and strawberry?

It's been a long time since I really had the time to catch up with the girls so I'm really glad for this opportunity.

THE OMFG AWESOME CAKE!

Finally a picture with just me and the birthday girl!

Beer Pong! Mandy first faced off against her dad. Like omfg, who plays beer pong with their daughters?! That's why I said her parents are so cool.

Finally it's time for the birthday song and to cut the cake!

I really really want a fondant cake like this for my 21st too!!!!

GROUP HUG BECAUSE WHO KNOWS WHEN ALL 5 OF US WILL MEET AGAIN.

Wanted to take a nice full body pic to also show my OOTD but...my face is so damn awkward in here. *sobs*

Let's just stick to selcas where I...look okay

This came about because Felky was saying that I look like I just came from the Genie MV set.

She accuses me of taking unglam pictures of her and yet gives me derp faces. Hahas. God, I love this girl so much. *hugs*

Final picture with Winnie before we had to leave because curfew for me and work  next day for her.
All in all, I had a great time at the party. Simply because I got to catch up with my friends from secondary school, people whom I've not seen in ages. It was also my first time experiencing the nightlife over at Boat Quay. Like woah, there sure were a lot of expats. I actually felt a little awkward walking through the crowd in my outfit.
At the same time, I would really like to hold a fabulous(like me) 21st too! 1 year and 1 mth to go! I've always watched shows like Amazing Wedding Cakes and Ace of Cakes, so I really want a gorgeous over the top fondant cake for my 21st! While typing this, I had a sudden inspiration for my cake design. So there'll be 2 cards, one ace of hearts and one queen of hearts. The cards represent my age, 21, and at the same time, the color red shows that I am a Cassiopeia (DBSK fandom) and finally, the cards show that I'm a Blackjack (2NE1 fandom). 8D

I have not even celebrated by 20th birthday and am already thinking of my 21st. Hahas. And I shall sign off now! Next post coming up in a bit!
